Continuous creation, writing again and again, ascetic practice can also be cultivation, painting is to let the brush marks with their own colors, as well as strong emotions, the day after day of joy and pain, even the long suffering and waiting, become vertical strokes, it seems to be every fluctuation of thinking and emotions.
The painting language revealed from the heart has finally obtained a clear and bright form.
The authenticity of painting comes from listening to one's inner voice. After lasting creation, painting is actually to let one's heart express one's feelings freely. The seemingly random brushstrokes actually gain a new rhythmic beauty in the subtle changes between different color blocks, tilt and superposition, echo and confrontation, control and disruption, improvisation and arrangement, and so on.
Li Peng's new work in 2024 is different from the previous color segmentation controlled by reason, and more allows the brush strokes to write and even walk along with the inner activities. The brush strokes seem to wander on the canvas, looking for an exit, with hesitation in different directions and temporary confusion. The colors also correspond to the state of mind, either bright or gray, or superimposed or daub, in the extremely unstable color blocks. In the scattered strokes, lines and marks in the struggle into the caress of color, this is the event of strokes, is the song of color. After a difficult search again and again, the wonderful moment finally appeared, the color and mood got the perfect correspondence, there was a very moving pen mark on the picture, it seems that the pen mark touched the piece of music when the heart shivers, as well as the crystal and transparent particles in the music.
Of course, this is related to the aesthetic pursuit of musical fugue that Li Peng has been trying to express in his previous works. The artist is lucky to hear the rhythm from inside the painting. In the ups and downs of the brushstrokes, in the criss-cross, different melodies are interwoven to form a beautiful harmony. The varied brushstrokes have been crystal condensed, both so fragile and sensitive, and so full of deep feeling, long summer, because of the colors integrated in these brushstrokes, because of its free flow and crystal transparent texture, in the look back will be very happy and bright, the song has been loud there, only to sing for the soul seeking happiness and beauty.
